Don’t Delay, Discover Your Smile Today
We smile on average 20 times a day, children smile approximately 400 times a day. That’s a lot of smiles. Especially if you feel self-conscious of your teeth. According to the NHS, more than 200,000 children and adults started Orthodontic treatment in the UK last year.
Smiling has been proven to have a positive impact on both your physical and mental health, so it’s important to do it as often as you can. Did you know, forcing yourself to smile when you’re sad will actually elevate your mood?
Smiles have superpowers, and luckily, we have the power to help you achieve the smile of your dreams and get you flashing it to everyone you see. We’ve put together some information about braces below, to help you decide on the best course of action for yourself or your child.
Are braces right for me or my child?
As is often the case with people – no two patients are the same! Here at Smile101, we offer a wide variety of treatments for a variety of problematic smiles. The first step on your smile journey is your free consultation, where one of our expert team members will assess your teeth and discuss treatment options with you. This is the perfect opportunity for you to discuss your concerns about braces, and find out which form of treatment we recommend.
The world of orthodontics has come a long way, so don’t be put off by past experiences and worries about having a ‘mouth full of metal’. We offer a wide range of treatments including Invisalign, ceramic and lingual braces to name a few.
When should my child or I get braces?
Children
The American Association of Orthodontist recommends that a child’s visit to an Orthodontist should be no later than 7 years of age. This enables early detection & intervention, if necessary, to reduce problems in later life.
We offer a free smile assessment in both our Windsor and Guildford surgeries. This means we can assess whether or not your child is going to need braces at the correct age. If we assess your child and decide they do require orthodontic treatment, we will contact their dentist and organise for your child to be referred to us for NHS treatment. Alternatively, you can choose to become a private patient of Smile101. We have no waiting lists so treatment can begin ASAP.
Adults
It’s never too late to start orthodontic treatment. More adults than ever are seeking treatment to straighten their teeth. The good news is that we offer a wide range of treatment options which can keep your treatment discreet and easy to manage.
No matter how severe your teeth insecurity, make sure you pop into your local Smile101 surgery to speak to an expert FOR FREE.
How long do you need to wear braces?
Treatment time varies depending on the patient, but on average you will usually need to wear braces from 18 months – 2 years. You will then need to wear a retainer every night when your treatment is finished to ensure your new teeth don’t move back into their old positions.
How much will braces cost?
Again, costing can vary from patient to patient and differs depending on treatment time and which variety of brace you will have. Braces at Smile101 start from £1,199. Fixed bonded & removable retainers (worth £900) and 12 months supervision on completion of treatment for your peace of mind. For more information about our prices, click here.
